Combining forces with SVSEF x-c for a Sunday am classic overdistance

It has been a great week in Sun Valley! We had an off day on Monday, and it was great to explore the Ketchum area. We spent most of the morning at Frenchman's Bend hot springs relaxing and utilizing the spring and the ice cold stream next to it for some natural contrast bathing.
Where we are all sitting is just down stream from the spring, on the other side of the rocks the water is FREEZING. Definitely got a 'brain freeze' headache from dunking. So worth it.
The water in this upper pool was bubbling it was so hot! Also, it smelled strongly of sulfur.
Warming back up in the Idaho sun
Ketchum has a great free public transportation system. We can walk one minute across the pavilion lawn to catch a bus into town. On Monday, the girls went out to lunch at a great bakery.

Jenna and I spent the better part of that afternoon riding the free busses around Ketchum until we decided to get off and explore some stores. There are so many neat bike and outdoor stores around here, it'd be easy to get into some major trouble $wise. (I haven't.. yet)
Some of they boys utilized the off day to purchase a buzzer and give each other hair cuts.
That night was my night for team cook. Jane and I (with some help from Tom) made pizza from scratch!
Jane excited about our masterPIEces
We got back to business Tuesday morning with some skate intervals. Even though we've been up here for a week, I was still feeling like I hadn't quite adjusted, but it was great to throw down some hard efforts. That afternoon we headed to Lake Creek for some recovery intervals. Despite the word "interval", we kept the heart rates in level 1 and 2 and when we were done, my legs felt better than they had when we had started!
Yesterday we drove 30 minutes up the road to Galena for a trail run at the base of the Sawtooth Mountains at 7200 feet. We mostly ran on wide ski trails and were treated to great views and fun rolling terrain. We went for about 90 minutes but we all felt like we could go exploring for much longer!

Self timed jump shot success!
Beautiful Idaho
That afternoon we hit the gym for mobility/stability based circuit strength, and put a wrap on the day with an 'on your own' dinner. Jenna and I headed into town and grabbed dinner a tasty southwestern joint before finding the candy shop.
This morning we hit up an empty development for some classic drills intermixed with some distance on the bike path. We are off this afternoon and are hosting the SVSEF post-grad crew for dinner tonight!

Thanks to Kate and Jane for some of the pictures!
Until next time,
